If you dive in rivers and use the currents in the oceans to glide, the PADI Drift Diver specialty course teaches you to enjoy drift diving.
Even if you are underwater and use diving equipment, you will feel like you are flying.
Dive dives can be relaxing and exhilarating at the same time.
If all this sounds fun to you, then the Drift Diver course is for you.
If you are at least 12 years old and are a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver, you can enroll in the Drift Diver specialty course.
Academic Course
Together with the techniques and procedures for drift diving …
- You will receive an introduction to drift diving equipment – buoys, lines and reels.
- You will get an overview of the currents – causes and effects.
- During two drift dives, you will practice buoyancy control, navigation and communication.
- You learn techniques that, while being carried by the current, will allow you to stay close to your partner or with the group.
Get credit! The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course can be credited as an Adventure Dive for your Advanced Open Water Diver certification – contact us for more information on obtaining credit.
Equipment you will use
Together with your basic equipment, you will learn how to use scuba buoys and floats with lines and reels.
