The PADI Master Scuba Diver certification represents the ultimate achievement for a recreational diver and recognizes your passion, experience, and skill in underwater exploration. To earn it, you must have five PADI Specialty or TecRec course certifications and log at least 50 dives, along with the PADI (Junior) Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI (Junior) Rescue Diver certifications.
Academic Path:
The Master Scuba Diver certification requires an academic path that includes the knowledge and experience of several PADI courses. You must be certified as a PADI (Junior) Advanced Open Water Diver, PADI (Junior) Rescue Diver, and possess five PADI Specialty or TecRec course certifications. Remember that the specialty or TecRec certifications must be PADI, no other certification is qualifying. A PADI Freediver certification (non-Basic) may be credited.
Prerequisites Required:
To access the Master Scuba Diver certification, you must meet the following prerequisites:
Minimum age of 12 years (Divers aged 12-14 can earn the Junior Master Scuba Diver certification)
Logged at least 50 dives
Certified as a PADI (Junior) Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI (Junior) Rescue Diver
Possess five PADI Specialty or TecRec course certifications.

Certification Issued:
Once you have completed the academic path and met the required prerequisites, you will receive the PADI Master Scuba Diver certification. The Master Scuba Diver rank denotes a diver with superior experience and capabilities who has achieved the ultimate goal for every recreational diver.
If you wish to become an even more experienced and qualified diver, you can also obtain the Dedicated Master Scuba Diver certification, which allows you to further distinguish yourself as a dedicated and passionate diver. To obtain this certification, you must meet the prerequisites for the Master Scuba Diver rank and earn five distinctive specialty certifications as part of a Dedicated Master Scuba Diver program. Additionally, you will need to submit a request for the Dedicated PADI Master Scuba Diver through your instructor to the relevant PADI Regional Headquarter.
