Description

Excellent buoyancy control is what identifies the most experienced divers.

You saw them underwater.
They glide effortlessly, use less air and go up, down or hover without even thinking about it.

They observe aquatic life more calmly, without disturbing their surroundings.

You too can achieve all of this. The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty course improves the buoyancy skills you have learned as a novice diver and takes them to the next level.

If you are at least 10 years old and are a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver, you can enroll in the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course.

Academic Course

During two dives you will learn:

  • To determine the exact amount of ballast you need, so as not to be too heavy or too light.
  • Adjust your weight system and equipment to be perfectly balanced in the water.
  • Make yourself hydrodynamic to save energy, use the air more effectively and move more gently in the water.
  • Hover in any position – vertical or horizontal.

Get credit! This PADI Specialty Diver’s first dive can be credited as an Adventure Dive for your Advanced Open Water certification – ask your instructor how to get credit.

Are you a newbie to rebreather?
When diving with a rebreather, this course gives you many tips for getting good buoyancy control.

Equipment you will use

To refine your buoyancy with the equipment you will use during each dive, it is important to use your own personal diving equipment, including the weight system.

The PADI Instructors of the Underwater Academy centers will help you choose the most suitable equipment for you for your new underwater adventures.
