The PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver Course is the ideal next step for young certified divers. In fact, it allows participants to quickly build on the skills learned during the Open Water course. Course location
The course takes place in the stunning waters of Malta and Gozo. Here, sea conditions support safe and progressive learning. Crystal-clear waters ensure excellent visibility during every dive. In addition, a wide variety of dive sites offers ideal environments for adventure dives. Malta provides modern and easily accessible facilities. Meanwhile, Gozo offers quieter and more scenic natural settings. Thanks to the mild climate, diving is possible for most of the year. For this reason, it is an excellent destination for young divers looking to improve.
Prerequisites
- Minimum age: 12 years (according to PADI standards)
- PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent)
- Good general health
- Parental or legal guardian consent required
What you will learn
- Advanced diving techniques in different conditions

- Dive management and environmental awareness
- Experience in adventure dives (e.g. deep dive, navigation)
Certification and exams
At the end of the course, participants receive the PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver certification. There are no traditional final theory exams; however, skills are assessed during the adventure dives.

- Full scuba diving equipment included
- For the PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver Course, all necessary equipment is included, except for the wetsuit; for hygiene reasons, we recommend a personal one, otherwise rental is available through Underwater Academy
- PADI learning materials included (manual or eLearning, where applicable)
- Practical sessions and briefings with a certified instructor
Course description
