Course Location

Malta and Gozo offer the ideal setting to focus on high-quality rescue training. These islands boast modern centres where you can practise in total comfort with state-of-the-art equipment. Thanks to the archipelago’s mild climate, many practical sessions can take place in realistic outdoor scenarios. Many visitors decide to enrich their holiday with this fundamental certification for collective safety.

The Maltese territory is renowned for excellence in professional training services and simplified logistics. You will experience a unique educational journey while enjoying the natural beauty and tranquillity that these islands offer. This combination of study and a Mediterranean environment makes the educational path extremely pleasant and productive.

Required Prerequisites

  • No minimum age requirement or specific scuba certification needed.
  • The course is open to anyone wishing to learn first aid.
  • Willingness to get involved and the ability to follow simple technical instructions.

What the student will learn

You will learn first of all to assess an accident scene to ensure the safety of both the rescuer and the patient. You will acquire the practical skills to perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) effectively and consistently. The programme also includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to intervene quickly in case of cardiac arrest.

You will study how to manage serious bleeding, shock, and spinal injuries following clear and standardised protocols. Finally, you will learn to provide secondary care such as bandaging wounds and assessing common illnesses.

Certification and exams

The completion of the course guarantees the issuance of the international Emergency First Response (EFR) certification. This certification is valid for two years and demonstrates your official preparation in first aid and secondary care. To obtain the title, you will undergo a continuous practical assessment and a final written exam to confirm your knowledge. Such recognition is mandatory for those wishing to pursue a diving career towards the Rescue Diver level.

What is included

The equipment necessary for the practical sessions is included, such as mannequins, bandages, and barrier devices for exercises. If you are a diver, we also include the tank, air refill, and weight belt for any integrated modules. The PADI digital learning material is entirely included to allow you to comfortably study the manuals and interactive videos. You will thus have access to all digital resources to review emergency procedures at any time. Since the course is open to everyone, we provide all logistical support regardless of your previous experience.
